Meet Henrietta Greene - Yoga Teacher working with Cubex

We are excited to be working with leading London based yoga teacher, Henrietta Greene, who will guide our #T4Tinnitus ‘Brain Power’ Yoga Workshop on Friday, 12th February 2016.Henrietta’s yogic journey began at the age of ten, since when she has practised many different styles that now influence her teachings, including: hatha, ashtanga, yin, kundalini, vinyasa and Broga® . In addition to sharing her insights on breathing mindfully for managing tinnitus related stress, Henrietta also looks forward to discussing more generally the benefits of yoga for those with tinnitus and hearing loss, and how it can equip the individual with the means to cope with and manage their situation.Yoga is generally practiced as a means of improving mental, emotional, cognitive and physical health. It can alter how we react to stress and reduce anxiety whilst improving overall quality of life. Different yoga styles can benefit your brain and body in unique ways. There is a wealth of evidence that suggests that regular yoga practice can influence cognitive function, gene expression and immune response. We met with Henrietta for a chat and to learn more about her practice and the importance of breathing mindfully. What does yoga mean to you?Yoga is simply my 'how to' in life. It teaches strength, humility, respect, playfulness, gratitude and contentment. Yoga for me does not simply start and end on my mat. What we explore and discover through our practice must be taken forward into our wider lives, and used to explore and discover life itself. How can breathing techniques help to improve our focus and well-being?Breath is life. A simple and undeniable fact. Without breath, we cease to exist. However, just how much do you breath - how deeply, how intently, how mindfully? Pranayama, the practice of breathing, is a way for us to harness the immense power that lies within our breath and the act of breathing. Pain, stress, anxiety, focus, fatigue - it can all be managed with our breath.Learn more about Henrietta here.
