Improving your mental health
We wanted to share an article written by The Telegraph about the current state of mental health and ways you can look to improve your mental health. One in 10 teenage girls are being referred to NHS specialist mental health services and one in three GP sick notes are for mental health reasons, but we are now in a time of great change for mental health. There is a much greater awareness of mental health and whilst the health industry is much better equipped to help those suffering, the article discusses putting some of the onus back onto self-care regimes.Mental health is something that, if possible, is better treated with prevention rather than cure. A healthy and nutritional diet, regular exercise, getting enough sleep, staying hydrated and allowing time for meditation and relaxation are all factors that play an important role in our mental health.Cubex' Clinical Mindfulness & Wellness Programmes Facilitator, Michael James Wong, contributed to the article, discussing the benefits of mindfulness and how to maintain mindfulness practice effectively.[contact link="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health-fitness/mind/make-2018-year-better-mental-health/" text="Read the full article"][vision_divider style="hr-solid"]If you’re in London, get in touch with customerservices@213.175.217.238 to arrange an introduction to Cubex Clinical Mindfulness; breath work and meditation techniques, or join the masses as we sit together monthly at Just Breathe London, a community gathering where we come together to sit and be still.
