Tinnitus Awareness Week 2015
Text4Tinnitus02 Feb 2015 - 08 Feb 2015Imagine a world where the sound of ringing, humming, whistling or buzzing is more or less continuous: a world where the feeling you get in your ears the morning after a concert at Wembley Stadium lasts for ever. This is what 15 per cent of the world population experience on a daily basis as a result of tinnitus. It can be constant or periodic, and varies in loudness. For many, it is more of an irritant than a debilitating disease. Yet some sufferers, quite understandably, react negatively to tinnitus and it can impact significantly on sleep, hearing, concentration and even thoughts and emotions. This often leaves the sufferer feeling stressed, distracted, anxious, restless and even depressed. At Cubex, London’s leading audiology centre, they often encounter people with distressing tinnitus who have been told there is nothing they can do about it. Statements like this, they say, are unhelpful and untrue. There is a host of methods and support available, and the team at Cubex are well aware of the need to support people who experience distressing tinnitus—they’ve been doing so for more than 50 years, in fact. Help them raise awareness this week by texting TINN15£4 to 70070 to donate £4 to the British Tinnitus Association, and by sharing Cubex’s tips for coping with Tinnitus, outlined on the website here.Cubex25 New Cavendish StreetMarylebonecubex.co.uk/cubexSource: Marylebone Joural
