We believe art has the power to transform, heal & restore balance within.
Our Gallery at The Well Being is presently showcasing a body of work by British artist Mark Lawson Bell.
Mark, a former Creative Director, is a visual artist, writer and poet, whose narratives re-imagine reality.
His work, across media, is playful and inquisitive. He takes objects, often the forgotten or thrown, and thinks of them as another thing or place. An old football, a world, or the veins of a leaf being all the rivers of the world.
He started this journey after, emerging from a period of unhappiness and addiction, he found love, and sobriety.
His work can be seen as an exhalation of happiness, a freedom to express freely, without let or hindrance.
Mark lives in Hastings, on the south coast, eats cleanly and forages where he can. He runs to the ocean every morning.
Swimming in the sea, aside from the health benefits, is humbling to him, ‘It’s only the English Channel, but it’s the same body of water as the Pacific or Indian Ocean’
There’s a synergy between how we think and how he works.
He is, very much, ‘a well being’
