Like our eyes, our hearing is constantly changing. Unfortunately, hearing is an easy thing to take for granted. People get their eyes and teeth checked on a regular basis, but hearing is hardly ever on the list? There are many good reasons to have your hearing checked annually, but the most important is your own peace of mind.
What to expect at your initial visit: When you visit us, you will be in the caring hands of our Audiologist who will be ready to answer any questions or concerns that you may have. Your Audiologist will spend time with you and your significant other establishing your reasons and motivation for wanting to improve your hearing. The consultant will complete a medical history; explore your communication challenges, examine your ears and complete an in-depth audiological assessment. At the end of your consultation, you will have the findings of your test, a better understanding of how you are experiencing sound and your communication ability. If appropriate, you and your Audiologist will jointly decide on strategies that can be implemented, set goals for improved hearing and communication, and formulate a plan for achieving this. The equipment we use to test your hearing is very sensitive, therefore, we kindly request that, if you have not recently attended your G.P. or E.N.T. specialist, let us know in advance so that we can arrange to have your ears cleared in case of any wax accumulation before we commence with your appointment.
