Oticon Opn™ Now Connects to All Modern Smartphones

Oticon Opn™ was released in 2016, claimed to be the world's first internet-connected hearing aid. The Oticon Opn™ has been available for iPhone users since it's release and has now also been made available for all modern Android smartphones.Powered by modern 2.4 GHz Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, Oticon Opn™ streams sound effortlessly to both hearing aids from a bluetooth-enabled smartphone (2010 onwards). The Oticon Opn™ app is free to download for iPhone and Android users.

The Oticon Opn™ quickly and precisely analyses the listeners soundscape and differentiates between environmental and foreground sounds. Even in complex listening environments, Otion Opn™ can open up and balance individual sounds allowing environmental noise to be accessible but not disruptive, empowering the brain to choose which sound to focus on. Directionality as we know it, has become a thing of the past.

In tests, the Oticon Opn™ has been shown to reduce cognitive load on the brain, measuring 20% less listening effort when trying to understand speech.  Tests have also shown that the reduced listening effort has actually freed up brain capacity, resulting in listeners remembering 20% more of their conversion.

The Oticon Opn™ connects to the If-This-Then-That (IFTTT) service allowing users to connect to a wide range of enabled devices in every day life, including door bells, domestic lighting systems & home appliances. Greater listening ease with the new Remote Microphone

Even with the best hearing aids, it can sometimes be difficult to clearly hear what someone is saying – such as in noisy environments or when attending a lecture. The new wireless ConnectClip can help you in difficult listening situations by streaming sound directly to your hearings aids so that you are able to hear speech at a distance like at a lecture room or in an extremely noisy environment. Here's how it works:

• Hand ConnectClip to the person you want to hear better

• ConnectClip streams the speaker’s voice directly to your hearing aids without affecting your ability to hear other sounds around you

• Use the Oticon ON App to control the volume of the remote microphone

• Range: up to 20-metres

Rechargeable for All-Day Power and Communication

Rechargeable Oticon Opn is now made available in several countries. With the easy-to-use charger, Opn mini RITE can now be powered throughout the day by simply placing the hearing aids in the charger overnight. The rechargeable solution gives users maximum flexibility to interchange the rechargeable 312 batteries with disposable batteries if the user forgets to recharge overnight.It is estimated that one pair of environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries can save approximately 150-200 disposable batteries per year.Learn more about Oticon Opn™ rechargeable here
