Intiga receives Cubex stamp of approval

A recent patient satisfaction survey conducted by the Cubex Audiology team, shows that Intiga RITE meets our patients expectations in everyday use – delivering immediate acceptanceand immediate benefits.(1)

The clinical survey was conducted between December 2011 and April 2012. We asked our patients to compare their experience with Intiga to their current premium instruments. The results were overwhelmingly positive, particularly for speech intelligibility, ease of listening and overall satisfaction.

Intiga – A landmark in hearing instrument innovation

You may be aware that processing strategies can differ between hearing aids. Some hearing aids manipulate the speech signal and the overall sound considerably before it is delivered to your brain. Other systems are more conservative and higher in signal fidelity.

Speech is a complex and richly embedded waveform. Overly manipulative signal processing can easily corrupt the natural intricacies of the speech signal and localization cues of our environment. We cannot afford this compromise.

Hearing aid users need full access to all the fine details of the spoken word and to their sound environment. Therefore, preserving signal fidelity is essential. Doing so gives the brain access to every bit of information it needs to organize the world of sound, select the information that is most important and follow it over time.

We say, let's keep things natural!

Traditionally, it would take between 6-8 weeks to adapt to the sound and to get used to amplification. Although, historically, this notion is accurate, advances in the physical design of products and in the signal processing incorporated into advanced technology, have changed this view. Independent research at Towson University in Maryland, USA and Horzentrum in Oldenburg, Germany showed that the advanced technology available in the new Intiga triggers immediate acceptance and obvious benefits.

According to the Townson study, the majority of participants reported noticeable improvements in speech understanding with a low level of perceived side effects within the first couple of days. This challenges the commonly held myth that it takes time to get used to hearing aids and is one of the reasons why we decided to put this to the test. (1) Cubex Clinical trial on Intiga was performed in the United Kingdom and collected data from 45 long-term, experienced clients. The participants had worn Intiga for two weeks. All ratings were made on a 10-point scale, where 10 is best. For each question, the poorest and the best ratings were given relevant labels, e.g. "Not at all" and "Perfectly".
